The Proposal

December 11, 2009

We started dating in 2002, and moved in together after just 6 months. Then on our 1 year anniversary we bought and moved into our very own house!!

Fast forward 6 years and it was christmas 2008. Now you need to know that I LOVE LOVE LOVE! Christmas. I have a huge tree with hundreds of baubles and lights and i stack all the presents up underneath and make a real song and dance about the whole event.
My H2B was making a big deal about me “not touching” my presents as he was worried i’d figure out what they were. Bless.
On christmas day he actually overslept, (i found out later it was because he couldn’t sleep because he was so nervous) so i had been up for about an hour by the time he ventured downstairs. I was a little miffed that he had slept in for so long as i wanted us to open our presents!!
He wanted me to open the ones from him straight away but i wouldn’t, as i always open the ones from my friends first, i told him i was saving the best for last!
He then handed me my presents one by one, and i handed him his. I think it was my third present when he went very quiet and i unwrapped a lovely black gift box, when i took the lid of it was filled with socks!! I was soooo excited. I am completly addicted to socks and have over 100 pairs, so i thought this was the best christmas present ever!! It was only when i pulled out two pairs of the socks that i realised there was a jewellery box at the bottom!
I froze, with a million things running through my head. I lifted the box out and opened it to find my dream ring inside. I looked up and he was on one knee and asked me to marry him! I said of course and we hugged and i cried!
He had also bought us a bottle of appletise to toast with, as i don’t drink alcohol.

My last present was a huge stack of wedding magazines all wrapped up neatly, so that we could start planning the wedding that very day!

That was the best christmas day ever

The drama with RSVP’s!!!

December 10, 2009

So if any of you have been married, i’m sure one of the most stressful parts was the RSVP’s!

For the life of me i cannot understand why this is such an issue…it should be simple….tick yes or no and pop in the post box. But returning RSVP’s by the specified date really seems to be a problem for at least half of our guests.

AAARRGGGHHHH!!

I think this has easily been the most stressful part of the planning process and i’m sure as i continue to chase people my stress levels will only increase.

What is the secret to getting back RSVP’s on time? Is there one? Or is it always going to be a problem?

Hopefully when i get home tonight there will be a pile of RSVP’s on the doormat waiting for me……and if not……there is always the chocolate in the cupboard! ūüôā

Weight Loss

December 10, 2009

So i have always struggled with my weight, like many women i suppose.
It has gone up and down over the years, from 9stone 3lbs when i was 19 to 13stone 3lb earlier this year! I’m 5ft 5in so a healthy weight for me would be around 10stone 7lb i think.

I am currently 12stone 10lbs and want to lose around 24lbs before the wedding. So i have 12 weeks to shed as much weight as possible. I think honestly i would be happy to be able to get to 11stone 7lb so that is going to be my first goal.

The first task is to stop eating so much chocolate!! It is my biggest hurdle as i can’t get enough of it!

Then i am going to continue with my exercise….running 3¬†times a week and gradually building up the distance i’m running.

Lastly i am going to give Gillian Micheals 30 day Shred DVD. I have tried the workouts on there and they are awesome!! She is really fantastic at what she does!

So, wish me luck. I’ll report back again just before christmas to see how much i have lost…if anything.
